14 Upcoming Movies That Will Definitely Get Cancelled

10. Gambit

The Hype: Probably the most iconic X-Men character to never have a substantial appearance in a good X-Men movie, Gambit is reportedly getting his own solo movie, with Channing Tatum set to play the legendary mutant for a projected 2018 release.

Why It Won't Happen: It's not very encouraging that two talented filmmakers in Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) both signed onto the movie and subsequently bailed, and at present the producers are still on the search to find a replacement.

In addition, the release date has moved around so much that it's easy to see the incredibly in-demand Tatum just losing interest and working on any number of other franchises he's probably offered every day.

Why It Still Could: The Fox Marvel movies are pretty reliable box office successes, and so the potential for Tatum to join the X-Men in a future movie will probably be too tempting for him to turn down...unless Marvel Studios come a-knocking before then, of course.
