The Plot: Four years after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, The Avengers must join forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Thanos (Josh Brolin), who is attempting to collect the Infinity Stones to place inside a gauntlet that will allow him to bend the universe to his will.

Why You'll Cry: Now, the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn't exactly full of emotionally devastating moments, but all bets are off now that Thanos is finally getting his feted arrival, which is certain to come complete with a major show of force.

Simply, at least one major character is sure to die at the end of the movie, with Captain America and Iron Man being the most likely candidates.

Whether or not they end up revived by the Eye of Agamotto in the next Avengers movie is beside the point: Infinity War will milk the emotion of the character's death for everything it's worth, and fans the world over are going to be absolutely devastated.
