The Role: The villainous Mother Ginger, who plans to rule over all of the realms with her colony of rats.

There is at least a passing chance that this generic-looking fantasy flick will give Mirren the floor to deliver a classically scenery-devouring performance, but the smart money's best put on her having extremely limited screen time and ending up a totally generic baddie.

At least she looks suitably unhinged, so that's something, but as Mirren proved with Winchester earlier this year, she's not above taking a ropey genre paycheck if it's got enough numbers on it.
