14 Washed-Up TV Shows In Desperate Need Of Cancellation
4. NCIS
A rare spin-off that has turned out to be more prolific and successful than the show it spawned from (JAG), NCIS is to its credit one of the most consistent shows in recent TV history ratings-wise, holding a steady audience of 17-20 million viewer per episode for the last 7 seasons, an impressive achievement even if the show is, in honesty, generic clap-trap not particularly dissimilar from the formulaic CSI. Crime-of-the-week TV has been overdone for years, and though earlier seasons of the show better juggled character development with the weekly crime plots, by the current season 12, it feels thoroughly played out. The characters are dull and the show's shaky relationship with technology (check out this particularly painful clunker) is headache-inducing. It's an insultingly stupid show that inexplicably enjoys amazing ratings every week.
