14 Washed-Up TV Shows In Desperate Need Of Cancellation

14. Family Guy

When it originally began airing in 1999, Family Guy became a cult smash, delivering a brand of eccentric, edgy humour that was like nothing else on Fox, particularly The Simpsons, which began its decline just as the Griffins arrived on our screens. The show was nevertheless cancelled after season 3 before being resurrected two years later, and is currently enjoying its 13th season on the air. At its ratings peak in season 6, Family Guy was actually able to beat The Simpsons semi-regularly, but in terms of actual quality, by 2014 the show really feels like it's run its course. While the reliance on cutaways and absurdist humour was charming for a time (especially in the first three seasons), it's now just lazy, exhausting and often quite irritating, while the increasing number of gimmick episodes (Brian's death, replacement and resurrection left many viewers particularly salty) suggest a thinly-premised show plumbing even more desperate depths. Hell, Seth MacFarlane himself thinks the show should have probably ended 6 years ago...
