15 Acclaimed Recent Movies That Are (Probably) Doomed To Receive A Backlash

1. Gravity

Deadpool 2016
Warner Bros

Back when it came out, Gravity was greeted with universal critical acclaim and that's not surprising. It was an amazing big-screen experience which most, myself included, loved. But then you rewatch it on the small screen and... it kind-of sucks.

There is probably no other film out there which falls apart so much on a second viewing. Without the awe-inspiring big-screen experience you're left with a flatly-written and thematically trite survival drama which is only given any legitimacy as a story thanks to strong performances from Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.

Therefore, although it was regarded as a masterpiece and one of the decade's best films back in its day, it won't be looked upon that way at all in the future.

As unfortunate as it is to say this, Gravity just isn't the great film it seemed to be at the time and frankly, it feels like very few are going to look back upon this with much fondness in the future given how appallingly it holds up without the big-screen experience. As such, it's the epitome of an acclaimed recent movie which everyone will eventually hate.
