15 Action Films From The 1980s You Must Watch
1. Aliens - 1986
Many did not think it was possible for James Cameron top the first Alien film, but with Aliens he was able to create an action film for the ages, while at the same time incorporating the sci-fi horror elements from the first film.
After surviving her first alien encounter and awaking from hypersleep 57 years later, Ellen Ripley must return to moon LV-426 with a team of space marines to investigate a colony that has gone silent. But their search and rescue mission quickly turns into a fight for survival as they discover the base has been overrun with xenomorphs.
While the first half of the film does an excellent job at building suspense and fear, the second half throws you into pure chaos as Ripley is forced to face her fears and must learn how to fight back against the aliens. It also doesn’t hurt that the practical effects of Aliens have aged so well that they would put most special effects of more modern films to shame.
