15 Actors Stuck In Hollywood's Dog House

12. Clive Owen

For a man once tipped to be the next James Bond, recent years have been a little unkind to Mr Owen, and unlike some on this list unshakeable doubts remain over his acting chops. A BAFTA win and an Oscar nomination for his role in Closer would imply Owen certainly has what it takes, the glossy and stylish Sin City gave him blockbuster presence, and the lead in the impressively bleak Children Of Men should have cemented his A-list status. Through a series of non-descript roles and box office flops such as Shoot 'Em Up and The International, Owen's career has stalled. So often playing support to much more bankable names Owen has drifted in recent years and found himself some way behind Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy and Michael Fassbender in roles that 10 years ago he might have had a crack at. So What Next? With regards to the next step, well, praise for television show The Knick won€™t hurt and while there is some activity on the film front, there's nothing that's likely to spend much time, if any, in cinemas. What he really needs is a good role very soon or he€™ll quickly find himself duking it out for sub-Liam Neeson cast offs as an ageing action hero, and his chances there aren't exactly anything to write home about.
