Theres an interesting point to consider about Rose Byrne. Despite her being good in pretty much everything shes in, and some of those films such as Bridesmaids and Sunshine being well received, you never really know shes in the film until you see her. In other words, no-one goes to see a film because Rose Byrne is in it. You just dont. A pleasant surprise, yes, but a lead to open a film? Sadly, not. As with Gerard Butler, it doesn't appear on the face of it that Byrne has done too much wrong, but it's always difficult to really think of films that she's stood out in. Good as part of an ensemble cast but not quite star material. Perhaps thats just it; perhaps shes cast in roles well within her comfort zone, and the decision makers just dont think she can really cut it. So What Next? Revisiting her roles as Moira MacTaggert in X-Men: Apocalypse and Kelly in Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising keeps the proverbial wolf from the door, but it's all just more of the same. Basically, she needs something to get her pearly whites into. A role similar to awards-courting Jennifer Aniston-indulgence Cake would suit her perfectly, and allow her to finally prove a well-overdue point.
