Been there, done it, won it and got the numerous T-shirts, it would be fair to say that Halle Berry has ridden the Hollywood popularity rollercoaster around on several occasions. Well-liked as Storm in the X-Men movies and outstanding to win her Oscar in Monsters Ball it looked like Berry had it all. Then, Catwoman happened and all that good work ended up in the litter tray. She followed that up with X-Men: The Last Stand, considered one of the worst superhero films ever made, and her decline was complete. So where has she been? In recent years some decent roles in average films such as Cloud Atlas and The Call have kept her busy (and lets not forget the thoroughly unpleasant Movie 43 claiming another victim) but shes struggled to retain both Hollywood and the publics attention. So What Next? Well, that Storm spin-off would have been great but is never going to happen so back to basics would suit her best. Another role like Monsters Ball, or a break-out indie hit, is what she really needs. Failing that, Berry is doing a little work behind the camera as a producer so perhaps that is where her future lies.
