15 Actors Who Stupidly Turned Down Billion Dollar Movies

15. Harrison Ford - Jurassic Park (& World)

Harrison Ford has twice turned down the mega-selling dino franchise. Steven Spielberg revealed that he turned down his offer of the role of Alan Grant, believing the part wasn't right for him. He claims after seeing it that he made the right call, but hasn't actually seen the film all the way through, so how would he know?

At one point, in the early stages of development of Jurassic World, Ford was set to star (presumably as a new character, since Sam Neill, Richard Attenborough and Jeff Goldblum were also attached at various points). That film might have been completely different at that stage to what Jurassic World would become, but Ford never stuck around to see if he would have made it through the rewrites.

Apparently, he dropped out because of how poorly received Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull had been.

What He Made Instead

The Fugitive (a smart move, but not a more lucrative one) in 1993, and anything from the iffy line-up of Morning Glory, Extraordinary Measures and Crossing Over, which all followed Crystal Skull. That was not a good time for him and you have to think Jurassic World would have served him better.
