Pitch: Lord of the Flats

Plot: This thriller is set in a luxury tower block sealed off from the rest of the world in a dystopian 70's England. When a new tenant (Hiddleston) moves in he uncovers a complex hierarchy and power struggles soon emerge among the people living there. Before long the situation ignites into a frenzy of violent tribalism.
Reasons to Be Excited: With his previous films Brit director Ben Wheatley effectively weaved horror into mundane everyday life with assassins in suburbia (Kill List) and serial killers in caravans (Sightseers) so hopes are high for this savage tale of social warfare in a tower block based on J.G Ballard's 1975 novel. With his biggest budget yet and a great cast, Wheatley should hopefully deliver one of this year's best films.
Release Date: TBC but a Cannes premiere is on the cards
