Status: Another Gremlins movie has been in significant talks since 2013, and though originally touted as a reboot, will be a full-on sequel, but it's been put "on hold" since early 2015.
Why It's Going To Development Hell: "On hold" is never a good sign for one, but it's also worth considering that the previous Gremlins movie bombed at the box office, and does a studio really want to risk sinking money into a project that may not recoup its cost almost 30 years later?
There are certainly fans who want to see it happen (and many who don't), but with next-to-nothing announced for the project and even the producers having a fairly dismissive attitude to it being made, it's hard to be optimistic for this one.
