15 Announced Movies That Are Destined For Development Hell
7. Friday The 13th
Status So Far: It was originally assumed that the financial success of 2009's Friday the 13th reboot would simply lead to another sequel, but despite a script being completed, it never came to fruition. Another reboot is instead on the way, directed by David Bruckner (The Signal, V/H/S/) for a Friday, May 13, 2016 release date (apparently). Why It's Destined For Development Hell: With no clarification on the rumours that the movie would be a 3D found footage take on Jason, nor the likelihood of shooting starting soon, Friday the 13th is almost certainly going to miss this release date, even though horror films typically don't take long to shoot. Given how much trouble Paramount has had figuring out what they want to do with Jason, it wouldn't be surprising to see this one get continually delayed for years to come.
