15 Announced Movies That Will Probably Never Happen
11. The Devil In The White City
What We Know: The rights to Erik Larson's 2003 book about serial killer Dr. H. H. Holmes were snapped up by Leonardo DiCaprio in 2010, with Billy Ray (The Hunger Games, Captain Phillips) writing the script while Martin Scorsese will reportedly direct.
Why It Won't Happen: Sad as it is to say, Scorsese has committed to more projects than he's had hot dinners, and with both the Sinatra biopic and The Irishman having lignered around long before this project was ever announced, it's hard to imagine it actually happening any time soon.
Plus, not to be gloomy, but Scorsese turns 73 this year, so he probably doesn't have that many movies left in him. If he passes before he gets the chance to make it, it's possible Leo's enthusiasm will evaporate.
