15 Awesome Harry Potter Deleted Scenes

1. Voldemort's Backstory

Which movie? Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince Where would it be in film? Before Harry and Dumbledore enter the cave. What happens? Revealing why Voldemort chose to hide the locket in this remote cave, Dumbledore tells a story of the young Tom Riddle and what is assumedly his first major act of violence - he took two of his classmates down here and "damaged" them. Should it have been cut? One of the biggest problems with The Half-Blood Prince was how it took Voldemort's backstory and let it play second-fiddle to hormonal concerns. Yes, Harry, it's important you know your enemy, but it's more imperative that Ron spends ten minutes under the effects of a love potion. Sadly there's no deleted scenes showing the Gaunt house or presenting young Tom Riddle as more than a Damien-clone (they were cut before shooting began), but this moment provides a satiable amount of information. Although, if there is ever an extended edition, then hopefully the broader strokes of how the Dark Lord developed will be more greatly fleshed out beyond this one idle musing. What other awesome Harry Potter deleted scenes are there? Which of these should have been in the movies proper? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
