Which movie? Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets Where would it be in film? Scattered throughout the second act. What happens? Harry would obviously never wind up actually being the Heir of Slytherin, but for a substantial part of The Chamber Of Secrets half the school certainly thought he was. Or so the film tells you. These deleted scenes show students gossiping and muggle-borns trying to get on Harry's good side, all of which takes a big toll on the boy wizard. Should it have been cut? Like the motives of Sirius Black, the identity of the Heir of Slytherin is one of those big mysteries every fan now knows the solution to, but it'd be nice to see the suggestion that Harry's not all good (something that would later be executed with his father) explored. These scenes widen the scope of Hogwarts, bringing in otherwise unseen students to create a better feel of the inter-school dynamics. However, as with Peeves, this really only pads out the plot and is thus the first thing that could really be cut from the second film, which is shockingly the longest of the movies.
