15 Awesome Movies To Watch This Summer (Which Aren't Blockbusters)

6. Regression

Release Date: August 28 The Plot: In Minnesota in 1990, Detective Bruce Kenner (Ethan Hawke) is investigating the case of Angela Gray (Emma Watson), a young woman who accuses her father John (David Dencik) of a horrific crime. Though he has no memory of doing so, his sudden and unexpected confession causes Dr. Raines (David Thewlis) to attempt to help John relive the memories through regression, which reveals something even more disturbing. Why It's Going To Be Awesome: Though this sounds like the sort of plot which could go either way, audiences are probably in safe hands with Oscar-winning director Alejandro AmenĂ¡bar (Open Your Eyes, The Others, The Sea Inside), not to mention two skilled actors like Hawke and Watson taking the lead roles. Garnering the movie a much greater deal of attention is the fact that Watson will reportedly appear topless in the movie for the first time in her career, though given the track record of all involved, hopefully Regression will be remembered for being a top notch thriller above all else.
