4. Jane Got A Gun
Release Date: September 4
The Plot: Jane Hammond (Natalie Portman) lives a quiet, retiring life with her former outlaw husband Bill "Ham" Hammond (Noah Emmerich), but after Bill is seriously wounded by the dangerous Bishop Boys gang (led by Colin (Ewan McGregor), with whom Bill has a long-standing rivalry), Jane asks her former fiancé Dan Frost (Joel Edgerton) to help bring the gang down once and for all.
Why It's Going To Be Awesome: Because it's such a delicious premise and, though there were plenty of production issues with director Lynne Ramsay bailing at the last minute as well as several cast members following suit, Gavin O'Connor (Warrior) is an excellent director who should have a fine handle on the dishy material. Including the aforementioned actors, the cast includes Rodrigo Santoro and Boyd Holbrook, so there's plenty of handsome grit to go around. With so much talent attached, hopefully the difficult project will prove very much worth all the effort. From the few promo images released so far, it looks great, and should be a credit to a genre of film which just can't seem to catch much of a break these days.
