15 Awesome Scenes From Trailers That Were Stupidly Cut From The Film
1. The Amazing Spider-Man
When the reboot of Spider-Man hit cinemas, the main draw for those who'd already sat through the origin story only ten years before was the promise of an expanded look at Peter's parents. Non-existent in Raimi's trilogy, The Amazing Spider-Man did give us a look at them in the opening, but much of the enticing development hinted at in the trailers was gone.
Many scenes with Rhys Ifan's Lizard and Irrfan Khan's Ratha, the two characters who could provide exposition on the Parkers, were deleted from the final cut, meaning the latter disappears suddenly with little explanation and the former comes across as a Green Goblin-lite. In the end it's a little paradoxical. They were cut when it became apparent a sequel was a near certainty, but much of the hype that created the film's success was from this dropped plot point.
Ultimately, the final product ended up feeling incredibly neutered because of it. Just be thankful there weren't scenes showing Peter catching Uncle Ben's killer; then we'd have really been fuming.
