15 Awful Endings That Ruined Potentially Great Films
6. The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Sorry to Christopher Nolan in advance, but he has a second entry on here. To clarify, these are ambitious films he is making and the fact they have made it to this list is testament to the fact that all his films should be considered great. The Dark Knight Rises is another victim of the too much going against the hero, too easy a solution to free him from his problems plague that is a common bugbear on this list. The Ending That Ruined The Film Actually it is just a part of the ending. You can buy the twist where it turns out that Miranda Tate (Marion Cotillard) is really working with Bane (Tom Hardy). Although it does require the audience to suspend their disbelief. But it is everything after this moment, up until Cotillards death scene that seems far-fetched. Tate, really Talia al Ghul, daughter of Ras, wants to finish her fathers work and detonate the bomb. Suddenly she can fight and knows how to drive a huge truck and we are expected to just believe all of that. But there is no believing that infamous death scene taken right out of a 1923 silent movie. It is one that may have made Chaplin proud though.
