15 Awful Films The Avengers Actors Want You To Forget

10. Red Dawn (2012) - Chris Hemsworth

RottenTomatoes Score: 12% The Plot: A remake of the classic cheeseball 1984 anti-communist propaganda action film Red Dawn, this time with the North Koreans invading America, serving as a timely substitute for the Soviet Union insurgents from the original film. Why It Sucks: It says a lot that the movie was originally supposed to come out in November 2010 and didn't finally release until two years later (which was more than three years after filming began). Yes, MGM's financial troubles were partly to blame for the delay, but also because the movie's villains were altered from Chinese to North Korean in post-production to a) make it more timely and b) ensure that the lucrative Chinese box office wasn't squandered due to the offense caused. As for the film itself, it's a depressingly effortless retread of a movie that wasn't even that great in the first place, and whoever cast Chris Hemsworth and Josh Peck as brothers shouldn't ever be able to work in the industry again. Hemsworth himself isn't terrible in it, he's just forgettably bland due to the awful dialogue, but hey, at least he doesn't suffer the indignity of performing a Subway product placement skit, just as poor Josh Hutcherson is forced to. Also in Hemsworth's favour is that he's made mostly smart choices to date, having just three Rotten movies on his entire filmography (Red Dawn, the not-bad Snow White and the Huntsman and Blackhat)
