Theoretically, Iron Man should have been the easiest character ever for Robert Downey Junior to play, given large portions of the characters’ personality in the films appears to mirror the actor’s.

However, both are also complex characters, meaning there are many scenes where the nuance of the way Stark is played makes the scenes ten times better than they otherwise would have been. A prime example of this comes in the iconic montage where Tony builds the ‘official’ Iron Man suit.
