15 Best Comic Book Movie Moments Of 2016

Giant Man > all.

2016 has been another crazy year for the weird and wonderful world of comic book movies. Deadpool made almost $800 million worldwide, Batman v Superman made only marginally more, and Marvel Studios continued to prove that they have the golden formula to critical and box office success.

Not every comic book movie this past year was as good as fans were hoping for, but even some of the year's worst ones still managed at least a great scene or two, while other films were so awesome it was a genuine challenge to cherrypick just a few awesome moments.

From long-awaited showdowns to highly entertaining cameos and every demented flourish in-between, these are the scenes you're going to want to go back to again and again, regardless of how the rest of each movie turned out.

Here are the 15 best comic book moments of 2016...

15. Post-Credits Scene - Deadpool

Captain America Civil War Giant Man Black Panther
Fox

If you stuck around at the end of Deadpool hoping for a hype-filled post-credits scene, you instead ended up with this hysterically low-key jab at the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Deadpool comes out of the bathroom in a robe (Ferris Bueller-style) and, after realising the audience is sticking around for a Deadpool 2 teaser, says they don't have the money for that, and "What are you expecting? Sam Jackson to show up? Eye patch and a saucy little leather number?"

Before he goes away, though, Deadpool tells the audience that the sequel's going to have Cable, and he gushes about him being an "amazing character", before suggesting that maybe Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren or even Keira Knightley could play the part.

This was the perfect meta note on which to end the movie while actually giving a proper update about the next one.
