15 Best Hans Zimmer Film Soundtracks

5. The Lion King

Considered by many to be the greatest animated film of all time (which it is, Toy Story fans), The Lion King boasts the best music of any Disney film, so it is not surprising to learn that Zimmer composed it.

While it is better remembered for its catchy songs including The Circle Of Life, Hakuna Matata and Can You Feel The Love Tonight, the orchestral music used in some of the movies most famous sequences is nothing short of outstanding. Mufasa's death and the Wildebeest stampede scene would be nothing without Zimmer's terrifying music.

Like the rest of the movie, African culture heavily inspired the score and it remains Zimmer's one and only Oscar win.

Best Track: This Land

One of the most heartwarming and triumphant moments in the film is where Simba talks to the spirit of his father in the sky and realises his destiny to become the one true King of Pride Rock. It's beautifully animated and This Land playing in the background, cements the scene as one of the best in Disney history.
