15 Best Movie Deaths Of 2016

8. Green Room – Patrick Stewart’s Resilient Neo-Nazi

Greasy Strangler
A24

Set at a backwoods Oregon music venue, Green Room pits a young, down on their luck punk band against a group of bloodthirsty neo-Nazi skinheads after they unwittingly stumble on a murder they’ve just committed. The band are more resilient than the skinheads give them credit for, and each side begins dispatching each other with increasingly violent means that offer up some great (in a gory kind of way) death scenes.

The best though, is probably Patrick Stewart’s who gives a chillingly subdued turn as the neo-Nazi club’s owner Darcy who wields power over his white supremacist underlings with low-key but menacing control. For all the bravado and brutishness of Darcy’s henchmen it’s him that’s the true villain of Green Room so when his death comes, during a final shootout where he gamely tries to walk away despite being shot in the back and leg before a headshot finally finishes him off, it’s all the more satisfying.
