Daylight’s End is a low-budget post-apocalyptic action movie, where a badass hero has to defend a prison full of innocents from an army of vampires. Truth be told he doesn’t do a great job of it, which leads to them being trapped inside when the hungry vamps corner them.

He manages to convince other survivors to lead a final defence, leading to an epic ten-minute shootout when the vampires finally break in. The film transcends its meagre budget to provide lots of well-shot action, with the desperate survivors holding their own until the ammunition starts to run out.

The hero is ultimately the last man standing, and he’s forced to take on the “Alpha” – the nearly unstoppable vampire leader – on his own. Daylight’s End isn’t very original, but the action more than makes up for that.
