15 Best Movie Performances Of 2018 (So Far)
5. Charlie Plummer (Lean On Pete)
While it won't get a fraction of the eyes on it that every other movie on this list will, this drama from Andrew Haigh (Weekend, 45 Years) about an impoverished American teenager (Charlie Plummer) bonding with an ageing racehorse is a trip well worth taking.
Haigh's film doesn't pull any emotional punches and an 18-year-old Plummer more than steps up to the challenge, delivering one of the most staggering and memorable portrayals of disaffected youth in recent cinema history.
Plummer won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for his performance at last year's Venice Film Festival, and it's safe to say that he's got quite the bright future ahead of him indeed.
