Hark back to those naysayers who said we didn't need more Toy Story 4, for those are the wrongest people in any wrong at any given time.

Sure, Toy Story 3 had a great ending, but it wasn't satisfying for Woody. It simply restated the deep-lying horror that toys just had to accept that life moved on and that they'd be abandoned or past on or forgotten. That wasn't any sort of ending for Woody, it was one aimed at appeasing the audience and making US feel better.

Toy Story 4 reclaimed Woody's story for him, refocusing on his abandonment anxieties and telling his existential crisis through the twin stories of Gaby Gaby and Forky. And it's a beautiful journey, not just because of the stunning effects - if you didn't cry and feel reaffirmed by that ending, you've a heart made of plastic. And no magic to speak of.
