The Plot: Fraternity pledgee Zurich (Trevor Jackson) and four other students endure an increasing array of violent abuse during Hell Week. As the hazing rituals become ever more dangerous, Zurich is torn on whether to blow the whistle or not.
The issue of college hazing is so prevalent in society that it's surprising it took this long for a major movie to be made about it, and the result is an intensely visceral, deeply unsettling look at the systemically violent nature of fraternity "bonding" rituals.
Though the end is never in doubt and it won't be surprising to many, the strong performances and taut direction add up to an uncommonly bracing drama that's both unsettling and troublingly true-to-life.
