12. Altered Carbon
Altered Carbon reeled us all in during its first season with its cyberpunk premise and stunning visuals. An adaptation of the Richard K. Morgan novel, it was set in a world where you could literally transfer people's consciousness from body to body - something that would come in handy for the second season.
Though the first season didn't quite reach the highs of its source material, it did provide viewers with a memorable experience that did the novel justice and stayed in your mind long after the finale's credits rolled, leaving us all intrigued as to what the second season would entail.
That second season hit Netflix earlier this year and it mostly delivered. Whether or not it's better than its predecessor is for you to decide, but the truth is that it thrived in areas where the first season did not, but it also failed to match it in others. Anthony Mackie does a great job taking over the main role from Joel Kinnaman, carrying Tak's story forward and, like the first season, it makes for an immersive watch.
Slowly but surely, Altered Carbon is getting there.
