15 Best Superhero Movie Costumes Ever
3. Iron Man Mark III (Iron Man)
The Iron Man Mark III suit is the first "proper" Iron Man armour following the glorified tin can that was the Mark I and the all-silver, flight-limited Mark II.
Though Tony's Bleeding Edge armour in Avengers: Infinity War is unquestionably superior on a technical level, that suit also looks a little on the overly plastic side, whereas the Mark III feels like a more photo-realistic translation of the character from the page to the screen.
Not only was it the blueprint for all the suits that followed with its classic red-gold design, it also had an appealing bulkiness to it that was quickly stripped away in subsequent Iron Man suits, and doesn't get overly busy with the trinkets and gadgets.
Yes, the sheer number of Iron Man suits makes it tough to forge a consensus among fans - though everyone hates Iron Man 3's tacky golden abomination, right? - but the first legit armour still feels like the most in-touch with the source material while laying the foundations for everything that followed.
