15 Best Supporting Characters In Sci-Fi Movies
13. Ron Johner - Alien: Resurrection
Mercenary Ron Johner appeared in the fourth installment in the Alien franchise, Alien: Resurrection, portrayed by Ron Perlman.
With a pretty badass facial scar (because just SAYING someone that he's a mercenary doesn't put a fine enough point on it), Johner finds himself aboard the Auriga when the ship becomes overrun with Xenomorphs.
Demonstrated by the fact that Ron Perlman was cast to play him, Johner considers himself the biggest, baddest dude on the crew.
Yes, he plays second fiddle to Sigourney Weaver's Ripley, because it's an Alien movie and it would be ridiculous if he didn't, but Johner proves how tough he is by surviving the incident without seeming particularly bothered by the Xenomorph infestation.
He isn't a particularly lovable character, as he's an obvious misogynist and bully, but he adds the unpleasant human element that no sci-fi movie is truly complete without.
He also uses a crewmate's paralysed legs for throwing knife target practice, which is maybe an indication of what a bizarre specimen Johner is.
