15 Biggest MonsterVerse Mistakes (So Far)

13. Godzilla: King Of The Monsters - The Awful Lighting

Godzilla 2014
Warner Bros.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters was easily the worst of the four Monster-Verse films and one of the main reasons why this movie was so widely (and deservedly) disliked was the consistently terrible lighting during the monster fights. Thanks to this, it was very hard to see what was even going on.

It's not bad lighting on the same level as, say, Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem or Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3, but it still sucked and this issue drained so much potential excitement from the proceedings.

Given how bad much of the script was, the film urgently needed some fun action sequences but thanks to this issue, the film didn't even necessarily offer that.

Lighting - what a basic thing to fail at.
