15 Biggest Unresolved Plot Holes In Harry Potter

8. Polyjuice Potion And The Voice Changes

For reasons that aren’t entirely clear, the filmmakers decided to complicate the Polyjuice Potion by having the drinker retain their original voice. This happens to Harry and Ron when they transform into Crabbe and Goyle and question Malfoy about the Chamber of Secrets.

Two movies later, Barty Crouch Junior uses the Polyjuice Potion and his voice alters to match the person he changes into – Mad-Eye Moody.

But in the first part of The Deathly Hallows, the Polyjuice Potion works as it did in the second movie. In other words, the drinkers of the potion retain their original voices. This can be seen at the start of the movie when several members of the Order of the Phoenix transform into Harry, and when the main trio breaks into the Ministry of Magic.

Given how the Polyjuice Potion always changes the voice of the drinker in the original novels, it’s strange that the filmmakers chose to make their lives more difficult by deviating from the source material. If they’d just stuck to Rowling’s version of events, this plot hole would have been avoided.
