15 Blunders That Ruined J.J Abrams' Star Trek And Destroyed The Franchise

2. Mr Scott and Transwarp Beaming

Mr Scott says that he accidentally killed Admiral Archer's pet beagle trying out his new idea of Transwarp beaming. Lets set aside the fact that Admiral Archer, from Star Trek Enterprise, would be almost 150 years old by now, the idea of Transwarp beaming is another device that was created to overcome the problem of getting Kirk and Mr Scott onto the Enterprise. A normal transporter beams a person from point A to point B and we have always been lead to believe that it has a limited range. But in Abrams universe, it is now possible to beam you from planet to planet and even on a ship that is traveling at warp speed. Transwarp beaming onto a ship at warp has never been mentioned in Star Trek before because it's a dumb idea. How would you get a transporter lock? What if the ship has it's shields up? what if the transporter beam is disrupted on it's long journey? How does a transporter beam travel faster than light? The consequence of abandoning Kirk on Delta Vega to fight CGI monsters is that you have to figure out a way to get him back onto the Enterprise. And Orci & Kurtzman's ingenious idea was to invent Transwarp beaming, a lazy and quick way to overcome an unnecessary self made hurdle in the script. Also, why did the Enterprise's Intruder Alert not go off when Kirk and Scotty beamed onto the ship?
