15 Chilling Movie Villains That Are Harrowing To Watch
6. Amon Goeth - Schindler's List
Steven Spielberg's 1993 masterpiece Schindler's List is not an enjoyable film. It is an exceptionally upsetting movie that, while brilliant, is something most people will only watch once.
The film doesn't shy away from depicting the horrors of the Holocaust in a graphically violent, unflinching manner; the main representation of these terrible events is Amon Goeth, played by the always-brilliant Ralph Fiennes. Goeth is a cold, hateful killer and his vile deeds and historical basis, combined with Fiennes' chilling performance, make him an unusually disturbing film villain.
As the film's representation of maybe the worst moment in human history, Goeth is very hard to watch. Scenes involving him are also unbearably tense, as it's always hard to tell when he's about to lose it and kill yet another innocent victim.
There is only one thing that makes watching this sickening screen monster any easier: the film at least spares us from seeing the horrors of the real Amon Goeth, who was so violent and sadistic with the prisoners (he used to regularly feed them to his dogs) that the Nazis themselves dismissed him.
