The Film:

In the highest-grossing documentary of all time, the successful but controversial Michael Moore takes aim at George Bush in this darkly funny, scathing documentary on the aftermath of 9/11, the War on Terror and the Invasion of Iraq.

The Controversy:

You know a film is controversial when there's a Wikipedia page called "Fahrenheit 9/11 Controversies".

With its factual inaccuracies and propaganda-like feel, as well as it being released around the time of a general election, the film angered a lot of people and caused a lot of debate. George Bush won the election anyway.

Why It Was Right:

You either agree with Michael Moore's methods or you don't, since the word 'objective' doesn't seem to exist for him. If you're expecting a neutral look at things here, you'll be sorely disappointed.

Fahrenheit 9/11 is propaganda and there's no way to get around it. With the blatantly manipulative editing, one-sided presentation of the issue and misrepresentation of information, it's the kind of political documentary which is designed to push your buttons. This is full of shocking accusations about America's motives in the War on Terror and the many factual inaccuracies, such as the film failing to acknowledge the turbulent situation in Iraq prior to the invasion, undeniably hurt the film's credibility.

Moore's film is probably one of the most open attacks on the American government ever committed to film.
