15 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The James Bond Franchise
6. The Lazenby Problem
If Timothy Dalton was never truly accepted as Bond by many, George Lazenby is the true black sheep of the family, considering that he only ever made one Bond film before quitting (on the misguided advice of his agent), had practically no acting experience prior to landing the role, and is the only Bond to date who isn't British. Though reviews of his single movie, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, are typically positive, few critics have showered Lazenby with praise over the years, instead criticising his performance as dull and uninspired, stating that the movie works in spite of rather than because of him. Even were his performance monumental, though, Lazenby would have struggled to gain acceptance, and when ranking Bonds, he almost always ends up stuck at the very bottom.
