15 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The James Bond Franchise

5. Everyone You Want To Take Over From Craig Is Too Old

One of the burning questions surrounding the Bond franchise right now is who will replace Daniel Craig when he inevitably steps down from the role, with the expected 2017/2018 release for Bond 25 marking his fifth and likely final outing as the character, paving the way for a 2019/2020 recasting. Numerous names have already been thrown around, with two of the more common names including Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy. The problem is that Fassbender and Hardy will both be 43 years of age by 2020, which would likely make them too old. The likelihood is that a younger actor in their mid-30s will end up with the role, so it's best to look at actors in their late-20s to early-30s right now for a more accurate glimpse at who might win the Bond role. As such, some of the more likely candidates are Dan Stevens and Henry Cavill (assuming the latter can fit it around his Superman schedule).
