15 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Marvel Cinematic Universe

1. It Will Probably Be Rebooted Eventually

With the inevitability of recasting and the potential for eventual creative bankruptcy, it's highly likely that, sometime down the line, the MCU will be rebooted in some form or another, quite possibly when Phase Three is completed and Robert Downey Jr can retire as Tony Stark. As long as the franchise continues to enjoy critical acclaim, a continuity reboot is extremely unlikely, though as the cast inevitably starts being replaced, the MCU will begin to resemble its original conception less and less. Whether this will lead to the critical downfall of the franchise remains to be seen, but rest assured that if it begins to suffer, Marvel aren't afraid to hit the reset switch in order to save their cash cow. What Can Be Done About It?: It's an inevitable part of the process, and though hopefully the MCU will manage to retain its consistency for a little while longer, if the series is still around in a decade, it will probably be distinctly different. Downey will be gone, Evans will almost certainly be gone as well, and depending on the future critical reception, the narrative could be significantly re-jigged too.
