15 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Marvel Cinematic Universe
10. The Hulk Will Never Get Another Standalone Film
Easily the most troublesome component of the MCU to date has been the Hulk. Even ignoring the 2003 Ang Lee stinker, 2008's film suffered from creative disputes between Marvel and Edward Norton, who was unceremoniously replaced as Bruce Banner by Mark Ruffalo from The Avengers onwards. After the overwhelming success of Ruffalo's interpretation of the character, the question soon arose as to when another standalone Hulk film would be hitting cinemas. Despite rumours of a Planet Hulk film persisting over the years, Marvel have remained circumspect about committing to another Hulk project, even as Ruffalo has claimed that they are coming around to the idea. Still, given that Marvel have surely realised by now that the big green dude works best in small doses, it's probably a better idea to just keep him sidelined as a supporting character in other MCU movies. What Can Be Done About It?: If Marvel wants to expand the Hulk's presence beyond the three Avengers movies, giving him appearances in other MCU films isn't a bad idea, especially if a fourth Iron Man movie gets made, considering Banner's close friendship with Tony Stark in particular.
