15 Crazy Facts You Have To Accept To Enjoy Star Wars Movies
1. It's Also All Jar Jar Binks' Fault
Okay, I may have exaggerated by saying that it was all Mace Windu's fault, because it's also all Jar Jar Binks' fault - and not just in a creative perspective. While Jar Jar began as a helpless Gungan, banished from his own city for being too clumsy, he rose his way to the rank of general by the climax of Episode I on Naboo. Some years later, presumably just before the events of Attack of the Clones, Jar Jar has somehow managed to become a delegate for Naboo in the Galactic Senate.
It's around this area of his life that the Darth Jar Jar conspiracy really comes into its own. As suggested through his greetings, Binks played a part in bringing Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin back to Coruscant to protect Padme from future assassination attempts. By simply bringing Anakin back, Binks has set a love affair into motion that will plague the galaxy for decades.
Furthermore, near the end of the film, Binks carries the motion in the Galactic Senate to grant Chancellor Palpatine full emergency powers so that the latter can use the Clones for a siege of Geonosis. These are the same powers that Palpatine will use to activate Order 66 and destroy the Jedi Order.
It would be a bit presumptuous to indicate that Jar Jar was really behind all of the destruction, considering that Queen Amidala also put in a vote of no confidence that led to Palpatine's chancellorship. However, that still doesn't change Jar Jar's political actions, which are just as clumsy as his mannerisms.
