13. The Prequels' CGI Was Good

At the heart of the prequel trilogy is a story of a man getting to tell the stories he has waited so long to tell. Surrounding that heart is a lot of green screen that will be digitally edited in post-production.

The prequels are no stranger to Computer Generated Images and have received much scrutiny for their heavy reliance on it in later years. However, the fact of the matter is that the CGI was exceptionally good for its time, with both The Phantom Menace and Attack Of The Clones being nominated for Best Visual Effects at the Academy Awards.

Even nowadays it would be difficult to suggest that the CGI is overtly bad - bar a few sequences - especially when the droid army is so convincingly good. The opening sequence to Revenge Of The Sith of the battle over Coruscant is incredibly exhilarating, and the CGI never takes you out of the moment even after all these years.

However, the best use of CGI in the Prequels comes in the form of a little green wizard. While the puppet Yoda has lots of nostalgia and affection attached to him, it's hard to deny that Yoda's CGI form is a fantastic model and does a much better job at blending into the world around him.
