13. Tony Learns The Truth - Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War concludes with an extremely eerie showdown as Cap, Iron Man and Bucky arrive at the Siberian Hydra facility to confront Helmut Zemo, and it seems clear that Zemo's about to unleash the remaining super-soldiers upon the trio.

In a cleverly subversive move, however, Zemo has already killed all the super-soldiers, and instead shows Tony footage of a brainwashed Bucky murdering his parents back in 1991, leading to an emotionally charged final battle.

Though the footage of the Starks' deaths isn't at all graphic, the implication of Bucky's superhuman strength makes it incredibly uncomfortable to watch all the same. Considering how so many superhero movies just opt for a consequence-free finale full of digital beams and other nonsense, it was great to see a movie opting for something a little more low-key, driven by its ominous set-up rather than a parade of explosions.
