9. Harley Quinn Is Born - Suicide Squad

Though there are many fans who view the Joker-Harley relationship as heart-poundingly romantic, it's hard to deny that The Joker's psychological dominion over Harley is totally abusive.

If you need anymore proof, just go back to the start of Suicide Squad, where that hasty character montage shows psychiatrist Harleen Quinzel, who had fallen for The Joker, being restrained and subjected to electro-convulsive therapy by the Clown Prince of Crime, bending her to his will in the process.

That's without even mentioning the subsequent trip to Ace Chemicals, where The Joker instructs her to take a dive into a vat of acid, which of course creates her iconic skin-bleached look.

Some argue that The Joker jumping in to stop her from drowning shows his internal conflict about the genuine feelings he has for her, but there's not really any convincing way to defend against these moments as being anything less than weapons grade-creepy.
