4. London Has Fallen
London Has Fallen had already caused controversy; many were upset when the trailer was released shortly before the tenth anniversary of the July 7 Bombings in London and others felt the film's release so soon after the Paris Attacks was insensitive. Even then, no-one could've been prepared for just how horrendous this would end up being. It's legitimately one of the most racist films of the 21st century.
The entire story is Gerard Butler butchering stereotypical Islamic terrorists, who are written in a way which feels insanely xenophobic. In one already-infamous scene, Butler tells them to "Go back to F**kheadistan or wherever it is you're from!" That's not even the worst part. The worst moment is when Butler, as he's pulverizing the Middle-Eastern arch-terrorist, delivers this monologue about America:
"You know what you assholes don't get? We're not a f**king building! We're not a f**king flag! We're not just one man! Assholes like you have been trying to kill us for a long f**king time. But you know what? A thousand years from now, we'll still f**king be here!"
Fine, Hollywood can be overly jingoistic in their movies but it's never normally this bad or this racist.
