14. Deep Water
Towards the end of the year, Disney and 20th Century Studios will release Deep Water, an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel of the same name. Ben Affleck will portray Vic, a man who allows his wife, played by Knives Out's Ana de Armas, to have multiple affairs. However, when these men start to go missing, Vic becomes a suspect.
Patricia Highsmith has seen many of her novels put to the big screen, including Strangers on a Train by Alfred Hitchcock in 1951, and The Price of Salt, which was adapted into the movie Carol with Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara in 2015.
Adrian Lyne will direct, his first movie in 18 years. He previously made Unfaithful and Fatal Attraction which also swimmed in these psychological thriller waters.
