15 Disney Songs Sure To Trigger Nostalgia

13. €œYou€™ll Be In My Heart€ - Tarzan (1999)

http://youtu.be/JIVaUcE4kAM This poignant rock ballad from Tarzan was written and performed by Phil Collins. The film is very much about the definitions of family, and €œYou€™ll Be In My Heart€ echoes that sentiment. This song is about a surrogate mother and her promise to an adopted son. They are not even the same species, yet their bond is everlasting. It is a very touching song, and for many people it has a strong connotation to relationships of their own.

12. €œI€™ll Make A Man Out Of You€ - Mulan (1998)

http://youtu.be/XK7XwLbd-oI Mulan features one of Disney€™s funniest and most inspirational musical montages. €œI€™ll Make a Man Out of You,€ which was composed by Matthew Wilder and written by David Zippel, is a great throwback to classic psych-up training songs. The main irony of the title is, of course, that Mulan is a young woman. The song features Donny Osmond singing the role of Li Shang and has small shout out lines from most of the main cast. The transition from a band a misfits to a (mostly) formidable fighting force is balanced with moments of humor, disappointment, and pride. It is a great nostalgic song and it helps bring out the fighting spirit in all of us.
