2. Brian De Palma (Worst Director...Five Times)

Another truly baffling figure of the Razzies' derision is legendary director Brian De Palma, who has been nominated for five Worst Director awards throughout his illustrious career, for his work on Dressed to Kill, Scarface, Body Double, Bonfire of the Vanities and Mission to Mars.

The former three movies were widely acclaimed and remain popular classics today, and even though the latter two are certainly not good movies, De Palma's direction is hardly awful in either case, with Mission to Mars in particular being frequently visually remarkable.

Razzie voters clearly have a bone to pick with the director, perhaps because of the controversial nature of his acclaimed earlier movies, but either way, it's just weird, unnecessary and completely unearned.
